4th of July

This was the first year since we moved the Middle East that I have spent the 4th of July in the USA.  Needless to say I was a little excited!   Our friends, Steve and Inez recently bought a house in Stillwater and offered to host a cookout for the 4th.  Little did they know that it would be turned in to a surprise 60th birthday party for my Dad with my entire family!!  Happy 60th Dad!

We had a blast watching the kids swim, eating some yummy food, and hanging out.  Jacob even got to hold his first sparkler.  It was a little terrifying at moments with all the littles running around with sparklers but there were no major incidents.

 Once the sun started to set, we headed off to Boomer Lake in Stillwater to watch the fireworks.  My families church is close to the lake and backs up to the levee so we just walked through the field and sat on the levee.  It was perfect.  The kids had plenty of room to run around and play.  Jacob loved the fireworks and talked about them for weeks.
