Jacob: 3 years

On June 16, Jacob officially turned 3 years old.  As typical in his life, his birthday party was a month early so we were used to saying he was 3 a whole month before he actually turned 3.

Jacob's Stats:
Age: 3 years
Weight: Jacob weighs around 32 pounds.  He is tall and skinny.
Height: 3' 1"
Eye Color: beautiful blue
Hair color: blonde but it's already starting to get darker
Clothing:  3T
Favorite Foods: Jacob loves Mac n Cheese, PBandJ, pasta, chili, pizza, most fruit.  For snacks he likes cereal, gummies, "cheerios and raisins", cheese crackers
Sleeping: He is still a great sleeper.  He goes to bed around 8:45-9 pm and wakes up around 8-8:30.   Most days he still takes about a 2 hour nap but occasionally we skip the nap and he does ok.

He is such a fun kid!  We are both so blessed to be his parents.  He makes life fun, exciting, and highly entertaining.  Jacob is an adventurous kid and loves most things physical and what I call "large motor skills" like running, jumping, climbing, etc.  This boy loves to jump off of stuff which also involves climbing.  Sometimes his fearlessness scares me but I wouldn't have it any other way.  He also loves to "slide".  I'm not sure if this is just his general term for a playground or if the slide itself is the favorite.  Either way he always talks about sliding.  He has new love for playing with "Lego guys".  Jacob has a couple Lego sets that he was given at least 15 super hero Lego guys for his birthday from Grandma and Grandpa.  He loves to sit at the table and play "Lego guys".  Jacob likes pretending to be a doggie named "Gizmo" and he crawls around the house panting and barking. Of course, the doggy needs to have his ears and belly scratched.

Jacob loves superhero characters and Ninja Turtles.  His favorites are Batman, Spiderman, Raphael, and Donatello.  He gets a kick out of pointing them out whenever he sees them.  Right now his favorite is Batman.  We have a Batcave that he likes to play with and he has Batman pj's and shirts.

Right around his 3rd birthday his talking and question asking took off!  All of a sudden I have a little boy in the back seat of the car constantly asking "What's that?" and he doesn't like for me to answer "I don't know" so sometimes I just have to guess what he is looking at.  His other favorite questions are "What doing?", and "Are you ok?".  He and Daddy like to argue over who's Batman with the "I'm Batman!" argument.  Jacob likes to tell you "Your my favorite ______ (mommy, daddy, fill in the blank).  He thinks it's so funny to tell me that I'm his favorite "Jacob" and wants me to argue with him that I'm not Jacob.   We read books to him every day before nap time and bed time.  He always has specific books he wants to read and he "binge reads" the same ones over and over.  Typically we let him pick one book and we get to pick one just so he has some variety in his life.  Due to his love of reading the same books he is able to recite them EXTREMELY well.  It's sometimes a little crazy how exact he can go through a book.

We love you Jacob and can't wait to see what the next year will bring us!

Beautiful Pictures

Today we received the files for the professional pictures we had taken of Jacob and Hailey in July.  I can't even express how happy I am with the pictures! I know I'm very biased but our kids are beautiful :)  How in the world am I going to pick some to frame?!  In the pictures Jacob is a couple weeks passed his 3rd birthday and Hailey is a a few days shy of 8 months.
