Oklahoma Part 2

When we finished our weekend in Fort Worth with the girls, Jacob and I drove back to Houston on Monday.  Just to be crazy, we rode to Oklahoma with my parents on Thursday.  Like I said before, we did lots of driving but at least this time we were riding.  Riding is so much easier since I was sitting in the back with Jake and could feed him and keep him company.  We were all headed to Oklahoma to go to another OSU football game and I lucked out in that this weekend was OSU homecoming. Friday night my parents and I took Jake to his first homecoming walk-around. For walk-around, the fraternities and sororities build "house decks" which is essentially huge non-mobile floats. These "house decks" are made with tons of paper pushed into wiring.  My Mom didn't believe this is how they were still made so we went up close to touch one. Ha. As you can see, it was a little bit chilly but overall not too bad. Jake of course did great.

While we were in Oklahoma, we were able to see the building of Papa's barn.  It is a huge barn and we can't wait to see it finished and maybe with horses.

Of course I went to the football game and Jacob once again spent the day with Great Grandma Gilbert and family. For this game I used one of my Dad's tickets so that Micah's parents could still go to the game. It was fun to be all together at the game. Holly and Emily even stopped by for a short bit.

After the game we had Micah's parents come back to the farm house to hang-out with Jacob and eat dinner. Jacob enjoyed getting some more time with Grandma and Grandpa.

On Sunday we drove back to Houston and on Monday Jacob and I left for Saudi Arabia. It was a fast, busy trip but we had a great time in the USA!  See you again in December!

During our month in the USA Jacob and I did a ton of traveling so that we could see as many people as possible. The weekend in Oklahoma Jacob was able to meet my brother and my niece but my sis-in-law and nephew didn't come with them.  So Jacob and I headed back to Dallas to spend a couple days at my brothers house.  Jacob and I were able to meet Aunt Traci and play with cousin Coleton.  We joined Traci and Coleton on a MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) play date at a local park. I put Jake in his first swing and spent a lot of time playing with Coleton.

We spent the evenings hanging out and playing. Bailey loves playing and taking care of Jacob.  She was a big help anytime Jacob needed anything.  Coleton didn't really care too much about him yet but I know that will change when Jake can actually play with him.

On Friday morning we headed off to Fort Worth to spend the weekend with my girl friends.  I'm not really sure how to label them.  I want to say college friends but I've known Holly my whole life and Anna since high school yet we all went to college together. Once at OSU we met Kendra and Christina.  It is such a blessing to have such amazing women in my life.  We are those types of friends that can not talk for months but once we are back together it's like no time has passed. Also, Anna had her first baby September 10! I was so proud of her for being brave enough to venture out and spend a weekend in the hotel with us. I know that is a scary thing but I think she did awesome. Jacob and Liam had some quality boy time.
