Nana's Visit

For the whole month of February and into March Micah was working a "turn around" which basically means he worked 14-16 hour days 6 days a week.  This made us both extremely tired and worn out (Micah more so than me)!  SO I whined, begged, and pleaded with Mom to get her to come to Doha for a visit.  Due to Mom's schedule and other things going on she wasn't able to get here until the end of March beginning of April.  That didn't matter to me, I was still so excited to have her come.

I feel bad saying this but I don't feel like we did a whole lot of anything.  Since this wasn't her first visit to Doha and since she has lived in the Middle East, I didn't feel the need to do any "touristy" stuff. We basically just played with the kids and did some of our basic every day stuff.  Jacob and Nana played with toys, made cookies and breakfast, played outside with the water table, and even invented a new ball game on the bed.  Jacob LOVED having his Nana here to play.

Unfortunately, Mom was able to re-experience the joys of awful sandstorms!

We did have an outing to Souq Waqif to do a little shopping and sightseeing.  We decided to visit the Falcon Souq first to price out our future Falcon ;)  Then we stopped by to pick out our camel. 

 After finding our animals it was time to wander the shops.  As we were wandering we saw the guys on the horses.  I was letting Jacob play on the iPad while we shopped so he wasn't too thrilled that I made him stop to take a picture with the horses.

 Once we tired of shopping, we stopped for lunch at Damasca for a little Arab style food and on our way out of the souqs we had to do some pigeon chasing.

On our drive home from the souq we decided stop along the water to get some pictures of downtown Doha.  It has been extremely sandy lately and this was one of the clearer days. 

Mom's last day in Doha we spent lounging around at the house playing with the kids and being sad that her time was up. That evening Mom was all packed up and I drove her to the airport to catch her midnight flight.  Nana may have tried to take one of her grand babies home with her! I'm so happy and blessed that Mom was able and willing to come this far to visit us.
