Mom and Dad in Saudi

Recently, my Dad was offered an opportunity to come do some work in Saudi.  Of course he only said yes because he wanted to see us.  It was such a blessing to us to get to see family without having to travel and be jet-lagged.  It was also nice to get to see Dad for such a long time without him having to take vacation.  We had him over for dinner most nights and had some play time with Jacob after dinner. We would go out to eat sometimes to as Dad's way of paying us back.   It was great having him around but we really missed having Mom.
After a decent amount of begging and slight guilt trips we finally convinced Mom to make the trip over as well.  I was so excited to have my Mom here to hang out with during the day and for Jake to have time with his Nana.  We didn't really do anything that exciting but we spent lots of time together.

One of Jacob's favorite things to do is go to the beach so one afternoon we all headed out for a little beach time.  Jake explored and played in the sand, Mom and I built a sand castle, and Dad and Micah played catch with the football.  It was too cold to get into the water but still a fun afternoon.

On Mom and Dad's last day here, I decided we should go out to the old church hidden away in Saudi not too far from where we live. This church is one of the oldest churches in the world. If you want to know more of the church history you can read it here.  On our way out to the church we saw what looked like a wall of sand in the distance.  Before we knew it, that wall reached us and took over the sky.  So we ended up leaving Jake in the car while we explored.
The sand in coming!

It was fun having my parents in Saudi and I was sad to see them go.  Maybe one day they will get to visit again.
