Pumpkin Patch!

I decided to wait until after Halloween to go to a pumpkin patch due to how busy we were and in hopes it would be less crowd and cooler.  I was WRONG!  There were at least 15 school buses at the patch when we arrived and it was stinking hot.  Ohh well, Jacob always loves playing around big groups of kids and they all cleared out by 1 pm and then we had the place to ourselves.  Going to a pumpkin patch was another "first of fall" activity for our kids.  Mom went with us making our day even more fun!

We went to Blessington Farms and started the day out in cute picture clothes. Jacob was in a picture taking mood so I have so many good ones of him.  Hailey on the other hand wasn't interested at all.

After fun pictures we changed into play clothes and hit the fun stuff!  They had lots of fun slides, a barrel train, zip lines, big bouncy thing and a petting zoo.  The kids had a blast wandering and playing.  Hailey fell asleep within seconds of being in the car!

Pumpkin Carving

This is the first Fall we have spent in the USA since having kids...ok since moving to the Middle East in  summer 2010.  Also, in the Middle East a single carving pumpkin cost about $50-$80 so needless to say we have never carved pumpkins with the kids.  I have fond memories of this as a kid so I was excited to introduce Jacob and Hailey to it.  Of course the best part is cleaning out all gooey insides. Jacob didn't know what to think at first but he got into it and became a good helper.  Hailey only started helping when we threatened Jacob taking her stuff. So much fun and so cute to watch a new tradition started!

More Pool Time

One great thing about having a pool in Houston is that we get to use it most of the year!  Although this isn't so great if you are wishing for cool weather.... We have used our pool this year well into October.  I think we may finally be done with pool time though.

Boo at the Zoo

For one of Micah's Friday offs I convinced him to take the kids to the zoo with me.   When we pulled into the parking lot we noticed it seemed rather busy and that lots of people were in costume.  We quickly figured out it was "Boo at the Zoo" weekend.  Although the entrance and some of the fall themed activities were a little busy, overall the zoo didn't seem crowded at all so it was a very enjoyable day.  It's fun to watch our kids have fun with their Daddy.
