The day we got back from our Ireland Scotland trip, yes, THE DAY we got back I threw Jacob his 1st birthday party. Now he turned 11 months old 2 days before his party but I wanted Micah's parents to be here and for the Perry's to be there. Plus, I was concerned about our move date and when we would be packing up our house. The only way to accommodate all these things was to throw the party the day we returned. I started getting all the decorations ready early and the day before we left for vacation we moved all the furniture. We arrived back to Saudi May 18 at 3:00am and his party was May 18 at 5:30pm. Needless to say it was a busy day.
Since Jacob has been on almost all forms of transportation from a very early age, I decided on a "transportation" theme for his party. I decorated with airplanes, trains, and cars. It turned out really cute!
Lindsey was so gracious as to keep stuff out of their sea shipment so that she would be able to make Jacob's cake. I'm forever grateful that Lindsey was able and so willing to make Jacob's first birthday cake. And it was adorable!
At last it was time to party.
Micah and I gave Jacob a personalized chair from Pottery Barn Kids for his birthday. It has his name in English on the top and arabic on the bottom. He loves it!
We invited all of Jacob's friends. His party guests were Gavin, Miles, Brooklyn, Savannah, Tucker, Aden, and Avery. A few of his close friends were out of the country and we missed them!
After some playing and partying, it was time to add cake to the mix. I was able to get Nana and Papa on Facetime in order to help sing Happy Birthday and watch Jake eat cake. Technology sure is great.
Jake wasn't really sure what he thought about cake. Miles was there to give him a little help and eventually Jake decided to see if Mom and Dad wanted to help.
Of course, when cake was finished it was time for presents. Everyone was so kind and generous! We even had presents to open from family in the USA that arrived in time for the party.
There were other adults at the party too!
It was a wonderful first birthday party for my sweet boy. Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us!
